Yesterday, up at 3:00 a.m. gulp two strong cups of coffee so I can be human, on the road to the airport at 3:45, park in the dark, wet garage and walk to the checkpoint, take off my coat, scarf, sweater, shoes and smile hazily at the uniforms, get dressed on the other side having been pronounced harmless, up in the air at 6:00, in Washington at 7:30, shuttle car to the hospital by 9:30 because no shuttle cars were available till then, saw Becky who told me all was still good and took more blood, taxied back to the airport, ate sushi at an airport restaurant and topped it off with a vanilla malted in another eatery, yum, a diet anyone would covet, and so not what I should be doing, catch my plane home at 3:00 p.m., arrive at 5:00, drive back for dinner which was popcorn, kiss Karl, kiss the cats, watch television, sleep sound as a bell. Will do this all over again in two weeks. I live an adventure!
Becky said, only two more weeks of treatment. I said I wished I could just keep taking the pills forever. She said puzzled like, that’s what everyone tells me.
