Bath Time

When we built our house

We decided to do without a

Silly to have a tub we said

Showers are all we need

But a few years later our grandchild was born

First, we washed the baby in the sink

When she was bigger we sat her in a plastic tub

I got wetter than the baby

So we bought a bathtub

All shiny white enamel and gleaming

Faucets and sprayer

For the baby to bathe in when she visited

And in the meantime

I thought I would give it a try

I bought pink Himalaya salts and Tunisian oils

Ran hot water, found a towel

Gingerly slid into the tub, finding it

Not boring at all.
