Strange Cat

A strange cat came by

And ate the food I put out for the possum

Mostly the possum just gets old tofu

That nobody else will touch but

Today I opened a shiny can

Of ocean fish flavored stew

A flavor Izzy now rejects for personal reasons but

I thought the possum would love.

But before it had a chance to taste this treat

This cat I never saw before ate it in big hungry gulps

I don’t think this strange cat has a home, being

Sadly bedraggled

And it’s so very cold outside.

This is how crazy cat ladies are made.
