Alarm Clock

I’ve set my alarm for the end

Of this crisis

Someday o’clock.

In the meantime I’m going to sleep through the worst of it.

After all

I did nothing to warrant this mess

This pandemic

I was living my best life

Maybe not actually best but at least very good

Okay fucking adequate.

And along comes doom

Aimed like an arrow at me.

So I will draw the shades now

Climb into bed

Pull the covers up

And dream about a world where I can isolate myself

By choice.
