Mouse Life

I’d just as soon be a mouse

In this world

Squeaking my heart out

Little bullet body

Chippy tail

Bright hungry eyes

I’d just as soon live in the walls of this life

Unseen ghost mouse with the run of my world, a

Secret whispery place

Filled with shreds of newspaper

Crumbs of eating things

With fat-sweated sausage and cabbage

To feast on.

A sausage goes a long way in mouse world.
