Hollyhocks Have Grown

Outside my house

For fifty years,

flourished next to the shack

Here before.

Tall blossoms with carnivorous smiles

Sideways yellow, ivory, indigo

taller than my cat

Taller than a man.

Flower faces peer through the window

Watching me

All nonchalant and indifferent

But I know better

They are just waiting

To see me naked.

I am a bit of an exhibitionist anyway.
