Family Tree has Problems

If you put me in a room with my grandparents

I would not recognize them.

They expired early

Or were banished

Or vanished

I am not exaggerating.

Gazela died two decades before I was born

The gall bladder operation was a success but the patient

Not so much.

Moritz died fifteen years later

Just cratered in his barbershop

Scissors mid-snip.

Annie spent all her days in the madhouse

Hearing spirits and afeared

Victor just disappeared

One hundred and eight years ago.

Just think,

Not even my mother would have recognized him.
